It was a very special day
It was a very special Day

Perhaps some autumn afternoon
We both might take a chance
You’ll walk with me like sweethearts
On city streets we’ll dance .

My arm sometimes around you
Sometimes you let me go
Our eyes revealing secrets
Just why, we cannot know

We share our words with laughter
I’ll turn to smile and say;
That time has raced so quickly
on such a special day.

We pause upon the corner
I’d turn, your hand in mine.
I lean to steal a kiss from you
As if to stop the time.

Just when you know you’ll let me
Our lips touch softly so
Our bodies press for seconds
And fleeting back they go.

And when your eyes would open
A sky of midnight blue
Will blaze with stars around us
For I’d be in love with you.
