Men and Women both cheat. Just to clear that up we women can be just as brutal, and cold hearted as men sometimes. My b/f cheated on me, he knocked up this girl. He finally admitted it to me after three months. I do hate guys sometimes but only the jerks. I know theres some good guys out there, just like theres some good women.

Men piss me off sometimes to and hell they even write stupid songs about how they lie, how they take off once there g/f gets pregnant and it just makes me think, "Are all guys this stupid? Do they think were this blind?"

But not all are.. i’ve come to learn that over the years.

Sometimes I eat candy in bed and throw the wrappers in the nightstand drawer where they stay for months.

The other day my son asked me what the eyelash curler was for.  In an effort to have him leave it alone and it not end up missing, I told him that it was an eyeball remover.  I put it up to my eye, covered my eye with my hand, acted like I was pulling out my eyeball and yelled ouch.  I took it away and while squeezing my eye shut told him it hurt really bad and that it was a dangerous tool and he needed to leave it alone.  This seems to have worked so far.

My eyelashes grow so long I have to cut them so they wont graze the inside of my glasses.

I was 32 when my doctor discovered I only have one kidney.

  I could never cut mine...I would stab myself in the eyeball and then would have to use the eyeball remover tool on myself.

I told him that I am happy as single woman, but I would like to find someone to share my life with. I explained that I was looking for true love.  Real love.  That "I want to spend the end of my days with you" kind of love. Not the kind of relationship I see so many of my friends in.  Not the "I need to be married because all of my friends are married" relationship.  Not the "I need someone to take care of me" kind of relationship.  The real thing.  The kind of relationship where you can meet a great, sexy, wonderful person and trust in your heart that regardless of how wonderful this person is, he/ she pales in comparison to the one you have at home.

He then told me, "I don’t even know if I can recognize that feeling anymore.  I’m not sure I even know what love means or how it feels anymore."

"It’s that feeling that you want to spend time with her. A lot of time. You want to do things for her to make her happy.   You can’t stop thinking about her.  When you think of the future, you imagine she is a part of it."

He then recalled an image he sees of me. I’m standing in the snow, waiting for him to come pick me up. I remember that day, too. He said the image still bowls him over.    

We discussed his inability to move back home and my inability to be happy in a place like Jackson Hole.  

"You were always the ’right’ girl," he said.

"Yeah, but the one who always had the wrong timing," I said.

"Yeah," he paused.  "Right girl. Wrong timing."

He’s returning to his home nearly 2000 miles away and I’m here thinking about how possibly the greatest love of my life is leaving. This hurts. I didn’t expect this tonight.  I’m really, really, really sad.    

Does he really have everything?  Do you really have nothing?  Have you tried keeping a gratitude journal?  Get a copy of Simple Abundance and start counting your blessings.  Also, things may look very swell for them right now, but it doesn’t mean it always will be.  They both left spouses to be together.  Their marriage, at least on paper, is the recipe for a future divorce.

If you have not found what it is that will help you to move on, keep looking.  Take a karate class.  Join a divorce support group. If there isn’t one in your area, start one. Take a cooking class. Contemplate a career change. Hike, knit, yoga, write, swim, run, read, volunteer. Whatever.  Just keep trying to find whatever it is that you enjoy.   

As I said, time heals all wounds, but you also have to be willing to let the past go.  This may require that you meditate and get counseling to heal.

It has taken a while for me to get to know personalities.  It’s hard to do when you don’t actually know anyone on the forum.  Trust me, keep coming, keep reading and posting and you will get to know people.  I consider several of the people on this forum friends and I hope that you find the same.

Ladies, no man is perfect, and no man ever will be.  If he has more good qualities than bad, then he is worth keeping.  If you find a man who is caring, committed, makes a decent living (decent, not luxurious), and can take care of himself then don’t throw him away, and please don’t take the opportunity to "trade up".  If you are able and willing to spend the rest of your days with no long-term partner by your side, then by all means, go ahead and do that.  Any open-minded man will respect that.  But, if you’re looking for a partner and commitment, expect nothing more from him than you would anticipate him expecting from you.  This is what will make a long-term relationship work.  For the sake of happiness in commitment, if you’re going to take something, then take what you can get.

MY bestfriend Dan, has a new girl., which is cool. but all the sudden she gets my e-mail from someone, and is sending me messeges all the time, asking things I have no reason to answer, I can’t be rude even when I want to. My point about Peterson wasn’t just that he murdered.  First and foremost the guy was a PLAYER.  Like many men/women talked about on this great site he had a sense of entitlement, thought he was above it all and the whole world revolved around him.  He was at his core - a narcissist.

Not all of these players and users and abusers kill or even physically abuse.  Look at Amber Frey and Janet Ilse.  Say what you want about them but Peterson PLAYED them - PLAYED on their deep need to be loved - PLAYED on their insecurities - and GOT OFF ON IT.

When you read not just my story (under New York) but so many of the stories here you see this over & over & over again.  People are just objects to these guys/girls.  To be used and tossed away when inconvenient.  I could go on about our "disposable society" but I won’t.

Peterson killed - and got caught.  But what about those guys/women who kill dreams, kill souls, kill hearts and kill trust?  That’s my point.

I didn’t see that episode ofMontel.  I usually don’t watch him.  I just feel sorry forthe children.  At 9 years old, I was still playing sports and withdolls, not trying to set adults up!  I actually think at 9, boysmay have still had cooties. 

Please get it checked right away.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2004; it was very early stage and therefore, very treatable.  As cancer progresses to other stages, your options become more and more limited...so it is important to find it early if at all possible.

The first place to go, if you cannot find a free women’s health center or clinic, is to a regular OBGyn.  She will do an exam and determine the need for a mammogram at that point.  Her staff will be able to assist you with where/how to get that done, etc.

Like I said before, do it now.  I was very lucky with the outcome of my situation, many people are not and that is primarily a function of their having waited too long.

Does the crack coincide with meeting at the base, where the tank meets the toilet itself? That joining place, if disturbed, can cause it to leak, its usually metal...

If water is dripping off the tank into a pot with a full tank, use food colouring to trace it, you’ll have to wipe down the toilet as you locate it...Home Depot sells a special glue that works to seal porcelain toilets...

Water that drips from the line is an indication that the washers in the shut off need to be replaced, this requires the main water shutoff to be made, then replaced, that is a pain in the ass to do one’s self...

I was talking to my mom this morning and she asked if I did anything last night.  I was telling her I went to a pub with a few friends and we threw darts.  I told her that I beat two of the guys.  I didn’t think anything of it.  I only started throwing darts maybe a month ago so I get all excited when I win

Anyway, she made the comment and I don’t remember exact words...something about you don’t attract flies with honey or something of the sort.  I asked what she meant and she said...You aren’t going to attract men by beating them in games.  They don’t like to be beat.  You should let them win and feed their egos blah blah blah.

What do y’all think?  It kind of aggravated me to think that I should have to feed a man’s ego over something so trivial.  Just wondering if I’m alone in this opinion.  My mom grew up in a different generation than me.

I know some women who need "corrective smacks" (figuratively!!), though I doubt they would help.   It IS the cheaters & abusers who have overblown senses of entitlement and do not recognize anyone other than THEMSELVES as having feelings or needs.

The "man" that I got the one year RO on is according to someone in the know...telling women he meets and most likely his coworkers and family - that I was stalking him. I can’t believe it. I think that there is finally some closure and then I heard this. It bugs me to think that someone I know has heard this and that those he has conned with his firefighter act will believe this.  damned if you do - damned if you don’t.

I should have worded my statement to focus only on the abuse issues, i had written it a long time ago and when i updated it  i just added on the latest info. He never ceases to amaze me. After we got the RO for a year he spoke to my atty and said to let me know that if i wanted to get back with him I would first have to let the courts know so the RO can be dropped and he doesn’t get in trouble. For 2 years i put up with his emotional and verbal abuse, his maniuplation and control tactics - including giving up a friend that he didn’t like - agreeing to move to NH with him and knowing my son woudln’t want to go (16yrs old) I ruined my relationship with him - esp since that son accused the ec bf of shoving him during an arguement.

I am so mad I am shaking.......

Ok, Ladies...

I have just gotten diagnosed with my first UTI.  I should count myself blessed to have made it to 30 before I got one.  I was prescribed antibiotics and some great medicine that relieves the discomfort (and makes my pee pumpkin orange...i find that really amusing and told my boyfriend he should see it just b/c it is such a sight to behold...but i digress), but i can only pake that ornage pee medication for 2 days sb/c it will interfere with the anti-biotics if taken for longer.

so, does anyone know of any other remedy that will make the discomfort any less while the antibiotics take their time to work.  i mean...i cant even sit for 5 min without feeling the pressure.

anyone have any suggestions?

I became aware of the concepts of ACofA only a few months ago.  Though I rarely drink, I had a couple of beersand drove a very drunk friend home one night...long story short...i waspulled over and arrested for DUI with a BAC of .08 (the legal limithere in IN).  I wasn’t drunk and passed all of the sobriety tests(albeit the BAC), but that really doens’t matter b/c according to thelaw I was.

Anyhow, as part of my sentence I had to go to thislame ass alcohol class, which 99% taught me nothing that i hadn’tlearned in the 7th grade.  However, the one good thing that DIDcome of it was this ACofA.  My father was a horrible alocholicwhile I was young and i witness and was part of things no one shouldever have to be involved with.  It finally occurred to me that awhole assload of my problems with men stemmed *directly* from being achild of an alcoholic.  my self-esteem, my crusade inrelationships to be made to feel "important" and "valued."  and onand on.

i am the "lost child" and fit it almost to a T.  itseems so simple and why i had never thought of it before...but thingsfinally clicked for me and i have been able to modify my thoughts andbehavior in the most incredible way since this discovery.

i am soglad you brought this onto the forum.  it really helped me so muchand i am not even close to being the same anxious and scared girl i wassome 3 months ago.

kudos to you girl!  understanding myreluctant position as a child of an alcoholic and the damage it haddone enabled me to change my life and freed me from these mental chainsfor the first time.  i hope it gives you the same.

My sister-in-law was warned by her doctor not to take frequent baths because the condition of most water nowadays is so unclean that you can easily contract a UTI by sitting in there too long.

My mom jumped on this right away and has an appt with an attorney for all of us---both of my parents, my bro and sis-in-law, and me.

I was saddened to learn that both of my parents wish to be cremated, but it is their choice and I will have to respect it.

In 30 min it will be LMM’s birthday...So want to wish her a Very Happy Birthday on the 28th...

I hope you don’t think I would look down upon you for that.  You seem to have changed.  Although people say "Once a cheater, always a cheater", I am not so sure.  Maybe I’m being too positive, but I am in doubt of you doing it again. 

The fact of the matter is, you’re different now.  You acknowledge that you did something wrong, and by swallowing your pride (which most are unable to do), you can actually tell people at a board like this one that you have cheated before.  As if that weren’t enough, you seem to be taking extra steps to keep infidelity out of your life for good.  I admire that.

Self-forgiveness...What you did you found a justification for doing,you mentioned blame, guilt, these are the results and after effects of why you cheated. That is an important thing to remember, what you did is because of why you did it. If you try to forgive yourself for the blame regret and guilt, It will be a pain in the ass and hopeless.

Re-examine the reasons why you did this, forgive from those reasons alone! Its like a tax exemption of sorts...You probably feel bad for ithappening, but it happened for reasons that gave you anemotional/physical release. An escape from what you went through.

I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 27 and got to eat soft foods like mashed potatoes and pudding for a few days (heaven!!).  An I.V. is nothing--I just had one last Thursday for a CT scan.  They may even put some cream on it so that you will not feel the needle go in.

I think about that episode in GA a lot.  I can’t even fathom how the relatives of the deceased must have felt.  Talk about betrayal.  Sick, sick people in this world.

I also believe some parents are willing to risk their child’s safety for the possibility of a large settlement.  It’s sick, but if you are ghetto poor and see a possible way out of it, you may relinquish all reason and ethics for the golden goose.

Like I had said before, her mother does not know who I am. Because of that, her overprotectiveness is out of irrationality.

I am on depo shot since last year. Honestly, i like it because I don;t have to deal with period every month as I was always in a lot of pain before in period time. Beside it, one side effect that I like is that to gain more weights - I am tiny. I am only 98lbs at this time, 5"..  always buy clothes at children store - size 12 of children clothes.

The side effects are sometime horrible. I have at least 3 days each month being very depressed - really really depressed that I just want to cry with no reason at all. I lost a lot of hair on my head too.. sometimes I had thought that i might be bald soon. I have to take Calcium every day because Depo shot might make our bones lack of calcium.

I’ve never tried the patch. I hate anything stick to my skin and then take my hair on that place away as I don;t have much hair .. and it hurts a lot..

That’s my thinking.. Depo is good if you are not afraid of gaining weights.

Mytaste in books jumps around quite a bit, depending on what moodI’m in.For a while, I was into some of the inspirational stories, andshortlyafter, I was reading mystery- thrillers.

No, I’m home tonight. Went to the nursery and bought my flowers and herbs for planting tomorrow.  I thought I would save myself the trip and spend the day planting.  When I got home, I realized I didn’t buy nearly enough, so back to the nursery tomorrow. Grrrr!!!

Sin City was great for the visuals. It seemed very graphic novel-ish. The story with Mickey Rourke was the best, though I do love Bruce Willis.

I love rosemary. Places tend to run out of it pretty early on, so I try to buy it as soon as I can. I also bought thyme, oregano, and chives. I usually buy different mints, but I can never figure out what to do with it. I can only stand so much mint in my tea. What do you do with it?

Is your bluebird feeder in a very wide open space? Bluebirds need a very wide, open space to land. A lot of people with big trees cannot have bluebird feeders.  Everytime I hang a feeder, excluding hummingbird, the squirrels get to it. I hate squirrels! Like Carrie Bradshaw said,  squirrels are rats with cuter outfits.  Gross!

Hmm..Interesting you say that.  I am on Synthroid to regulate an underactive thyroid.

Yes,Ihave an underactive thyroid if I do not stay on the Synthroid. Ihad gained a lot of weight all of a sudden and was sluggish. Mygynocologist is actually the one who diagnosed.  I have beenonmeds for about 4 years and have lost the weight, thank goodness! :)

So I’ll blame it on the meds!  That’s interesting.  I have never heard of that before.

Yep. That’s why I ended up at the gyno to start with.  I had gainedweight with no periods.  I had taken a pregnancy test and it wasnegative so I figured something was wrong or either it was stressrelated.

I usually have irregular or absent periods if I do not take the pill.

I have met some wonderful doctors but have also crossed paths with some who are very cocky. 

Ido not hesitate to question orders.  I’ll usually go to my NursingInstructor or Nurse Manager of the unit I am on.  If they cannotanswer, I will go straight to the doctor.  Some of them cannotstand to be questioned, especially by a student.  I readassignments before class and clinical and have no problem questioningif I don’t think something is right.  A lot of them minimizepatient and family concerns which is irritating to me.  Theydismiss pain and common symptoms.  I have seen doctors half waylisten and then start scribbling out a prescription without fullylistening.  It’s annoying.

Some doctors have beenwonderful.  Some actually listen to patients and address allconcerns, medical and psychological.  When working as a student(outside of clinical) last summer, a few great doctors would pull me inrooms and allow me to watch procedures and teach as they go. Those were some of the best experiences I have had thus far.

Butyes....some are assholes and are very hard to deal with.  The onlything I know to do in order to deal with it is speak my peace anddocument what I say and the response so that I clear my name and willnot be held accountable if something goes wrong.

2 recent commercials stand out a bit from what people usuallyexpect. 3 males sitting in a booth at a restaurant. Then it pansto 3 females walking out side by side wearing trendy outfits. Theybring it down to slow motion as they are walking in and one ofthem winks. They pan back to the males. Then the pan to the waiterbringing out 3 plates with sizzling meals on them and the males droptheir jaws. When they pan back to the females, they have a look ofdisgust that the something else gathers more attention than themselves.

Asimilar one has 3 males in a nightclub setting which they’rediscussing something. A female in trendy fashion (red dress,maybe?) walks in door. The males immediately look up towards the door,get up and walk in that direction. The expected reaction is that thefemale controls the attention of (and thus hold a power over) themales, but to her surprise, they jostle right by her saying "Excuse me,pardon me", and proceed to the place that has the food which holds thereal captivation of their desire.
