Tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians (so legend has it), passed on from generation to generation, says that, "When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount." However, in today‘s enlightened world of relationships, the top 10 more advanced strategies most often employed are: #10) talk to the dead horse until you believe you have convinced it that it is not dead #9) decide that the horse being dead is your fault and change what you are doing
#8) forgive the dead horse for dying and convince yourself it is not dead and will never die again
#7) make the dead horse attend counseling against its will
#6) analyze every action of your dead horse until you come up with a scenario/set of circumstances that indicate it is not actually dead and then post on message boards about your dead horse till someone validates your premise
#5) start ignoring the dead horse and not doing things for it so it will have to do things for itself
#4) start ignoring the dead horse by locking yourself in a room and looking at pictures of other living horses and chatting with other living horses
#3) decide to keep riding the dead horse cause it is the father/mother of your children
#2) snoop in the dead horses e-mail, text messages, journals, and phone records to get more information And the #1 thing people do today in relationships when they find they are riding a dead horse is...... #1) keep hoping the dead horse will change and trying to change it

tee hee, I see a bit of myself in there...that‘s too funny! Makes me think of another quote that might be appropriate on this site in particular..."Never change horses in midstream."
Cheers!

time to take my own advice.
remember .... when someone pees on your leg and tries to tell you its rain?
time to take your things and leave.
