Today was the second day of viewing for someone that I worked with for 5-6 years. She was a hard working lady, held several jobs for over 9+ years, to make sure she can give her kids what they needed. Her husband did not work. He abused her, he beat her, for years. It was years before she finally started sharing about her abuse, to her co-workers. They saw the bruises. This started coming out after I no longer worked there.
She felt she could not leave her marriage, as in her old country that was frowned upon. She felt she had no other option. I want everyone to know, that there are options. I was a young boy cry for his mom last night. He cried, because he will never see her again, and perhaps he cried because he will never see her again and it‘s his father‘s fault. Or perhaps he cried because he and his brother witnessed what had happened that morning.
On her birthday, a little over a week ago, they argued, and the husband stabbed his wife, several times. This hard working mother, who wanted to make a good life for her kids, who were her life, died soon after in the hospital.
Please keep her boys in your thoughts and prayers. They have a tough road ahead of them.
Thank you.

This is truly appalling... So many good, honest, hard working men and women find themselves trapped in situations like that of Andonetta... but women don‘t have the strength to violently fight, not as often as men, and sometimes end up paying with their lives for the crime of wanting to lead a balanced, normal lifestyle...
I think this would be a good time to reflect on the positives, and think of the women that this website has helped escape situations like this in the past.
My heart goes out to the sons of Andonetta. They face an uncertain future, robbed of their family by the man that should‘ve acted as a pillar, and instead ended up destroying their home. I hope he gets what‘s coming to him when he reflects over what he‘s done, in jail. I hear they don‘t take very well to wife killers in there.

abused women are in danger of losing their lives. everyone knows it but them. they always think they can manage and they tend to believe the guy when he says he won‘t hurt them again. it‘s frightening. if these things happened to men as often as to women (one woman killed in US every 13 minutes, is it?) it would have stopped ages ago. oddly, women are in extreme danger when men need control. this is heartbreaking. hug your kids tonight. hug your sisters, your mom‘s your aunt‘s your nieces and your daughters. open conversation about love. it is NOT jealousy. it is NOT control. it is NOT demanding. very sad. sending prayers to everywoman. we all need strength to help ourselves and to help others.

God this just breaks my heart in two. Many prayers being sent up for those two beautiful boys. Sometimes all the victim has is one more day left on earth. The lucky ones leave the day before. Celebrate your life - you just never know.
I lost my best friend to domestic violence it is a hurt I wish on no one.
I wish the worst kind of harm to come to that ASShole so called man and may it come to him slowly and involve bubba and his pals - oh and a two by four.

I don‘t think this can be over emphasised.
It is not a smack as one would hit a child‘s hand away from fire. It is the opening gambit in what inexorably leads to murder.
When a man gets used to beating his woman, when there are no limits, what stops him?
