ended up getting on of my old victims back into a safe house... New boyfriend trouble. I hope I get a weekend off, but knowing how the BCSO was with her over the last guy I don‘t want to leave her high and dry without someone there to remind them of their role with crime victims.
The victim I am working with now- her perp is wanted on probation warrants and last night we found:
forgerys, attempt to purchace a controlled substance, burglary, CDV , disorderly conduct and aggervated assault...
this is just what we‘ve found on the internet.
I just hope they will do something soon. She‘s had to leave and stay with a friend since Tuesday when she called the police on him. The police say that he‘s a legal residence at her home and he can come in and out when he wants to... But he has warrants. go figure.
grrr!
but now I have to help another one of my prior victims move her son out cause he‘s using drugs and has gone off the deep end. I took care of it for last night without incident, but I think if we get his stuff together that will keep him from trying to come in her house again. He‘s got warrants to and his mother even brought him in to the court house when they had these warrants and they told her that he had another court date soon and they would get him then. in the mean time he goes to her house and destroys anything he wants, steals what he can and has even assaulted her younger son for his birthday money.
I have a custody exchange at 6:30 tonight
I have to take a victim to court tomorrow in Hampton at 5:30 and arrange child pick up at 2 schools. If there were 3 of me I swear!
But I do have my meeting with CODA for the final touches on the LEO training. We should have the agendas ready for tomorrow afternoon.
I will talk to them about my repeate victim then. She‘s completely embarasses, but I remind her that we usually have at least 2 abusers. I did.
I knew there was something wrong with this guy when he wouldn‘t tell me what his name was... he just kept saying "no, Rocky IS my real name"
bull ****! SEE AN ID GIRLS!!!

well thank you guys. the girl from Hampton went to court on her husbands criminal charges last night. I feel bad cause not only did the guy get Pre Trial Intervention (which will make him do a batter‘s intervention) that will give him a chance to expunge this charge off his record, but the judge apoligized to him for "having to do this"
He told him he HAD to because of the state‘s case... the victim‘s advocate stated that she witnessed the woman and child frightened and that there were bruises and swelling on her neck!
of course the guy was like "she started it." The Judge told her she "looked hot tempered"
It was a while before she calmed down after court, but since it was an hour and a half drive home she‘d at least calmed down before we went to the shelter. And another victim I helpped about 2 years ago has put her to work cleaning houses so at least she has someone else to get her out of the shelter during the day. I couldn‘t imagine being in her shoes. She‘s never driven before really. I did take her out in my car since she‘s been here and she has a Drivers Ed book now so a couple more times out and we‘ll see about getting her a liscence :)
I think I do this more for me than them though. I know it helps them out, but it also keeps me busy and I like to help people so it‘s totally worth it.
I just wish there was 3 of me cause it kind of leaves my friends not in crisis behind. I had a friend call sunday night at 8 to go out for a drink and I just couldn‘t do it I was so tired!!! I usually never miss a chance for a drink!
today I have to get one victim‘s kid from the school bus stop and hang out with him till 5 and then I have to go over child support with a friend who (thank God) isn‘t a victim of abuse, but her ex can‘t seem to keep up with his debts. I am sure it won‘t all be work and after diner I plan on having her cut my hair.
I kind of feel bad typing while I am at work, but since noone is here and I have to wait on them to deal with my current case (at my paying job)... he he he
