Yeah, I know, I‘ve written about this before, but something came up...again...so I‘ll recycle and add.
CREATE A NEW USER ON YOUR COMPUTER
Just like at work where each clerk has his/her own account
on the computer, you create a special Dating User.
This means that when you are ready to deal with the Dating
thing, you have to log out as you, log back on as Dater.
CREATE A NEW EMAIL ACCOUNT USING A PHRASE
Now this is so key and I‘ll tell you why.
Scammers create accounts using phrases, not names it warns them not to run scams on each other. Scammers use aol/yahoo/hotmail...any of the popular generic mail sites.
hereslookingatyou@hotmail.com is likely to be a scammer.
happylarry@verizon.com is a real person.
You use a phrase as a flare to make scammers think you are one of them. The chaps you might be communicating with on the dating site will not know the sign.
ONLY LOG ON TO YOUR DATING ACCOUNT AFTER
YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR OWN BUSINESS
By limiting the time you are on your dating site, you will
instantly pick up the stalkers and sickos.
The lunatic who writes ten messages in ten minutes but never got a response, the idiot who wants to go to Instant Messaging immediately betray themselves.
When you are always on you don‘t notice because you get an email, answer it, are on I.M. having all sorts of discussions so you might not pick up that Robo is a stalker, or that Div
is insane.
It is the difference between the television being on and you not noticing the noise, and the house being silent and someone next door banging on the wall.
By limiting your time on the Dating Account, you can expose many of the lunatics in your first venture.
DO NOT GO TO INSTANT MESSAGING FOR AT LEAST
TWO WEEKS
Yeah, I know you will find this impossible to do. But the longer you delay, the longer it is exchanging email, the better you get to know this chap.
You will learn who doesn‘t read and who does. Who has murky thought processes and who is engaging.
You will be able to know exactly what you told your potential dates exactly what they said.
Hence, lies will rise to the top.
ALWAYS BE A LITTLE VAGUE
Never admit to exactly where you live, your living conditions,
your children, anything.
Being a 37 year old divorcee with two sons and living in Vermont is enough.
Talk about your interests, world events, any and everything.
Think of it like this; if he can‘t hold a sensible conversation
in a basket now, why do you even think of a long range relationship where he‘ll be splashed out on the sofa watching television, ignoring you.
Further, you don‘t know him, you might be sorry you ever responded to his first post. If he doesn‘t know you or where you live, you‘re sure a lot safer.

Living in Jamaica I have a sense of invulnerability. I know these idiots can‘t get to
me, to my bank account, in fact, I can be on the Space Station when it comes to
that kind of security.
This makes me rather one who looks for trouble.
With Dating Sites I put myself in the position of the average woman who proceeded without caution.
I had to disable my Skype account due to one insane stalker type who was
looking for an all expense paid vacation in my house, and I could not physically
be on Skype or Yahoo without getting googals of messages from this guy.
So I think to myself, okay, suppose this was ‘real‘ how would I get rid of him?
I became very boring, started to discuss False Memory Syndrome as if I had
Asperger‘s....(stuck on one subject, on and on and on) I bored him to tears.
All his posts went virtually unanswered. All his demands/desires to visit me
went by, as I was posting about FMS.
I stopped answering he stopped posting.
Recently, I ran into a Nigerian; all the signs were there.
He was ‘too good‘ to be real. He used a phrase at hot
mail, so did I.

Good for you! If this was "real" --be boresville. So hard for me to do.
Couldn‘t you say, " I have decided that I don‘t want a relationship with you, and I am certain I will not change my mind, and having come to this conclusion I hope you will pursue other avenues because thats what I am going to do."
and see if that would do it too? I don‘t know, I‘ so sure you handled it totally the best way...it would just be so hard to repeat **** for me. You know?

The normal ‘date‘ will be able to discern that you aren‘t interested, Maybe the fact he wrote on Tuesday, and you
respond with a sentence on Thurs.
The nut job will write twenty posts on Weds wondering why you haven‘t answered.
The trick is to get him to drop you.
It will work for you.
He writes whatever and you write...
"They had a sale at the supermarket on beans so I bought
three cans, I wonder if I should have bought four?"
