Hey Ladies....

I am a products lover. Do any of you recommend a particular skincare, anti-aging, or beauty product? It can be a drugstore, department store, or specialty store product.

Here are my recommendations:

MAC Pro Longlash Mascara

Body Essence White Tea Shower Gel (available at Wal-Mart)

Graham Webb ThermaClay Treatment (deep conditioning for hair)

Kiwi Blow Serum (for hair)

Nivea Nighttime Lotion

Curel Age Defying Lotion (great for winter)

Lander Firming Lotion (Best 97 cents I have ever spent. Much lighter than Curel--good for summer.  Available at Wal-Mart.)

MAC Paint--great cream eyeshadow to use a base or alone. One tube lasts a very long time.

MAC eye pencils---great shades--no tugging

Benefit concealer--pot lasts forever--hides all dark circles and spots

LORAC Sheer Wash Stain

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream

Please share---as I am always loking for great products to try.

Thanks!

I like using Oil of Olay facial clothes at night to remove makeup.  I also use the face wash in the mornings.

Clinique has a great night treatment gel called acne solutions.  I don’t have acne, but I put some on the occasional blemish and it works wonders.

Aloette cosmetics are pretty good too.  My mom uses some of their anti aging products.  Their makeup and cleansing solutions are made with aloe and my mom loves the way it makes her skin feel.  I have used it before but I don’t like switching products and I’m spoiled by Clinique haha!

I do use the Aloette powder eyeliner.  I don’t know why but I can never seem to use the pencil lines.  I really like the powder.  They also make a bronzer.  After all the makeup is on, you just fluff a little on your face and it accents your natural colors and makeup.

My hair has long layers and sometimes I like to flip it out and Multiplicity makes a really good swax (spray wax) and it’s not sticky and lasts all day.

And then finally....my favorite hair product:  Redkens vinyl glam shining spray!  It smells sooooo good!  I use it every other day after I dry my hair.  It makes your hair feel so soft and shiny :)

If I think of more, I’ll post but those are some of my faves :)

This is a good thread.  I’m going to have to go shopping soon! hahaha!

Oil of Olay facial cleanser is one that took me a few disasters to find.  I also cannot live without my cocoa butter. As far as make up goes I usually stick with all Almay products,  I tried clinigue one time and I had this horrible allergic reaction. My face can be very tricky if I start trying new things, I stick to what works.

Kiwi Blow Serum adds shine and does keep frizz under control. I love it!

Lander lotion is a body lotion.

Subject: Girls and their lipstick.....

A school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done.  She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers, and then, there are educators.

I love these kinds of threads..where to start.
I've tried many expensive face creams and they just aren't
all that. La Mer was a big waste of money! I really don't
think anything topical will get rid of wrinkles just exfoliate
and moisturize.I use derma new with the electric sponge
and cream to exfoliate it does a good job.I'm using Olay
regenerist day and night cream and it works just as good
as the expensive stuff.I really like the new night cream it
makes your skin feel like velvet.
For the body Avon moisture therapy and aveeno body cream
they last 24 hours. The Olay in shower moisture cream is
great too especially when you're in a hurry.I was given some
Laure Mercier body souffle that's really good but I wouldn't
buy it for myself it's too pricey.
I'm really into Molton Brown body washes right now the
heavenly gingerlilly is awesome and the exhilarating julipe
body scrub is even more awesome!
Hair products..Schwarzkopf Igora shampoo and herbal
sealer and Aveda pure abundance these are to build
body my hair is flat as a board.
Nars eyeshadow and blush and Lancome eyeshadow.
I use English Ideas powder foundation which I really
love but can't find here I have to order it from Sephora..
my favorite place! I like Estee Lauder more than mascara Rosebud lip salve, Kiehl's lip balm and Burt's Beeswax.
My all time favorite
lipstick is Dior Addict # 659 it's a cross between lipstick
and gloss. The ONLY hairspray I've found that works for
me is Kenra volume spray super hold..it holds your hair
without looking or feeling like helmut head.I hope they never quit making it.I'm a hopeless product and scent whore.I
have two tall storage cabinets full of body products, candles
and scented oils.My favorite thing I've purchased recently
are candle warmers I have one in every room. The candles
last forever and there's no soot or burning flame to worry
about.Ok I'll shut up now and go read the other posts in
this thread.

Are you looking for something to control the shine?  A lot of companies make a shine control product.  I use one from a company that went out of biz (Skinmarket, in case even of you used to belong to the Underground), but I also have one from Clinique and Avon. The Clinique one is pretty good, but I prefer Avon's.

I'll have to check out some of the products you guys listed. Any suggestions for lipcolor for full lips? I have a hard time wearing lipstick that doesn't wear me. I don't get it---Angelina Jolie's lips are bigger than mine and she can wear lipcolor, but if I put on lipstick--my lips look enormous!!  I'm talking huge. I do have very full lips, but not quite as big as A.J. I always avoid lipcolor or gloss because I feel like they become clownish or monstrous with a little color.

Oh....does anyone know where you can buy Cynthia Rowley cosmetics? I use to get some at Sephora, but their website doesn't show that they carry her cosmetics anymore.

Found a new product!!!

Vaseline Intensive Care lotion makes a Nightly Body Renewal lotion.  It was on sale at the grocery store so I figured why not?  It has grape seed extract and lavender.  You apply it nightly before bed and it makes your skin feel really soft.  I like it!

They also made a lotion with aloe which is good for the skin.  I didn't buy it also because I was in the grocery store and the mission was food.  I get out of control in the beauty section at times ;)

I like using lotion at night, especially during the summer because I am out in the sun a lot and want to keep my skin moisturized so that I do not look like a leather purse one day.

Speaking of the sun, Clinque makes an All Day Workout Wear foundation that I also use.  It has SPF 15 in it.  Stays on all day and works great :)  Like I said, I enjoy being outdoors in the sunshine, so it protects me from the rays somewhat.  I know, I know, I use sun block when I’m out for too long ;)

Have you tried Lancome Mars lipstick?  Very natural in color; it's all I wear.  And I love Absolue Night; great for mature skin so probably not right for you yet.

Freemans Blackberry Mud Mask

Bed Head Small Talk Hair Goop?  Instead of mousse

Lancome Hypnotique Mascara - defines and lengthens better than anything else I've tried before

My new fragrances for life:

Summer-Ultimate Clean

Winter-Fracas by Robert Piguet

Like LMM I have a lot of crappy mistakes under my bathroom countertops that need to be thrown out.  Like eyeshadow...I love all the really neat colors out there but can only wear beiges, taupes and browns.  Everything else looks clownish and I've become better at not impulse buying and making mistakes.

I miss the days of being able to just go places without makeup.  I still don't wear a whole lot but wish I didn't have to wear any at all.

I have usually gone with Revlon or Cover Girl for make-up, but as far as skin care products I go with a Mail Order catelog called Yves Rocher from France, I love it, my favorite from them Pure Calmille, day cream, Toner,& purifing Exfoliant. It's really great stuff. They have a scent called Ming Shu that I love. They're prices are reasonable until you get into they're Cellular Cure stuff which for 28 capsules is $84.00.That's there most expensive though. I usually spend about $30.00 an order, which is once every couple months. Sometimes pending on the amount of the order like $30 or more has free shipping. They always have promotions for lots of free stuff like 8-piece welcome kits.I loved the one I got it had alot of stuff in it.  They have sample orders, like 15-piece sampler is $1.95.  It's all 100% natural, no testing on animals, they claim to have "zero-waste" factories. I've used them for a couple of years now and I have no complaints, I don't like all their Fragrances, just a few, but I'm really picky when it comes to that. They have Skin Care,Body Care, Hair Care, Make-Up, & Fragrances.

They do have a web site www.yvesrocherusa.com

well hope this helped check it out they have fast service, especiall when ordered online. Tell'em I sentcha:)))Enjoy!!

Oh almost forgot, Does anyone recommend anything for shrinking pores?? I rinse my face in ice water like my Doc told me long ago, but I feel like Joan Crawford on Mommy Dearest, and it's temporary and I've tried Toners out the Wah-Zoo, I have large pores not craters but I'd love to smooth it all out if possible.

Strangely, I was just going to ask if anyone has tried L'Oreal's Microbrasion Kit. I just saw a TV show that said it is one of the best products on the market right now. One of its benefits is that it shrinks pores. Anyone try this yet?

I'll have to check out the site you suggested. I love little samples!! Thanks for the recommendation!
