Does anyone know how long trichomoniasis stays in a mans body until it infects a woman? My husbands ex girlfriend had it in 1985. I got it last year from him.

Hate to say it, but your man‘s been cheating. I would say he‘s had recent contact. You need to get treated, and so does he, and his other partner needs to be notified.
I am sorry, but he‘s been lying to you if he says he got this in 1985. And no, he didn‘t get it from a toilet seat, either.
I am so sorry.

We have been treated for it. It does stay in the body for 2 years before infection. And yes I know he cheated.

No. My doctor said it had been there for about 10 days. He said I would have been completely nuts if it had been there for years. Nope - the man is cheating.

Well, if you want to believe him, that is completely up to you. I only know what the doctor told me when it happened to me. "Recent contact" is what I was told. My ex denied it up and down - for months - but the truth eventually came out.
The thing about cheaters is that they usually don‘t stop, and quite often, even when caught, they just get sneakier and better at it.
And even if he‘s with you for 24/7, I wouldn‘t trust him any farther than I could throw him. The fact that you have to keep a leash on him is a symptom that you can‘t trust him.
The danger of him giving you something like this (even though it‘s treatable), is that he could be giving you something far more serious than this. AIDS - for example - has a window period of six months - and you can get a false negative on a test.
I noted that when I got rid of my ex-husband, I haven‘t had a single "infection" ever since.
