Hello ladies. This is my first post on the forums, so please be easy on me!
About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Disease (for those not in the know about this disorder, I have put a link in)
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000369.htm
and I am unsure of what to do. I was so scared that I would have cancer or something and I haven‘t gone back to the doctor since. I know that‘s bad...
anyways, my symptoms have been getting progressively worse and I wanted to know 1) is this a disorder you can just ignore? and 2) depending on the severity, what would my options be?
Thanks!

Hi sunshine_20, I‘m sorry to hear of your situation. I can understand why you are scared of seeing your doctor.
However PCOS is not something you should ignore, especially since you say your symptoms are getting worse. There are many complications of PCOS which you can‘t treat by yourself. Please see your doctor again to follow up on this. There are many different treatments for PCOS which your doctor can discuss with you. There are also methods of getting pregnant if you wish to do so.

Hi
just wanted to say it‘s good that you found out at such a young age. My doctors suspect i have a possibility of this due to to irregular periods. Usually my hormones are normal levels and most of the time i have a period. A bit of advice that i try to follow is keep a good diet and exercise. don‘t forget to take vitamins. for me, it has always taken a longer time for me to get pregnant. but there are medications to help with that. (they don‘t work for everyone) best treatment is a good diet.(if you are prone to diabetes they may prescribe metformin)
