I recently ended a relationship with a guy that I found out that has been cheating on me.. I really don‘t know the extent to which he has been groveling, however, I know he didn‘t use protection with these other individuals.  I feel so dirty & stupid for trusting this dirty bird.  Up until him I hadn‘t had unprotected sex in say 14-15years.   My question is can anyone tell me when the best time to get tested for HIV would be ?  I know he recently had a HIV test for his work & it was negative, but is it true that the disease can lay dormat in your system for a year and your test come out negative initially ?

I‘m scared to death..Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

From what I have been told by my doctor-a test 3 months after exposure then again at 6 months will pretty much cover you as negative.

Forget the test HE had done-you get one for yourself!
