I stayed because I dont really know why but i know why I left
I never thought that I fit the bill for being battiered b/c I fought back all the time. I hit him over the head with a pot. Fought him so bad back that he came out of his cloths. I bit a plug out of his arm.
I left because I shouldn‘t had to fight back in the first place I shouldn‘t had to fight. because each time I had to fight harder. It took him choking me and I couln‘t fight back that day. All I could say is OH GOD. He did this in front of our two year old. I left because it is fact that he would have went to the weaker person who couldn‘t fight back our children. I would do anything to help my husband but not at the expense of my children. Adults can do what ever it is that they want but we have no right to bring them up in a house hold of violence. I rather have my children come from a broken home then to live in one.
As soon as the court house open I filed for a Exprata Order of Protection for me and my children. I made copies took them to the school and daycare. Told my neighbor if you see him call the police. I am a fighter but this time it will be in the court room
I left to save not only my life but my children. I remeber my mom. My father tried to fight her one night the next day he was gone. She told me never to allow any man to put their hands on you.
Thank you all for your responses. This was one of the better parts of my day. I hope that my post help save a life. If you ever think that you cant leave you can. You have to find the strenght within you to move foward. It is harder staying then leaving. I know that first step feels like a ton of bricks on your feet but with each step you shatter it one 1lb at a time. Just keep trucking honey the finish line is in sight
