Hello Ladies,
I am not 100% sure if this is the right site to be on, but I can use all the help that‘s out there.
I was in a relationship for 2 years (last year living together) with a man who meets ALL the criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
I moved out a month before our lease was up, because I could not take the emotional abuse anymore. I was at a point where I thought I was seriously going to go crazy. My concept of reality, what was real and what wasn‘t, was so warped by contact with this man, that I knew I was on the brink of going insane.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. From the titles of the topics in this forum, I think I am in the right place; I hope so. I look forward to sharing with you all and hearing your stories. Hopefully, we can all get through this and look back one day, and say "How the hell did I get through all of that?"

Hi, SoF, and Sounds to me as if you‘re in the right place. For sure you will one day look back and wonder how you got through it... and, in addition, learn why you put up with it... and in the end will actually be able to laugh about some of it. I speak from experience on that.
for recognizing the problem and getting out when you did!
Again, welcome aboard.

Soul on fire,
And yes you‘re in the right place...There are some great people here...And this is exactly where you should be!
It sounds like you‘ve already taken your first step by leaving your abusive boyfriend...that alone is a huge step to overcoming it...But you need to heal and get back on track...And know that you‘ll never put up with this again, and don‘t need to.

Welcome SoulOnFire!
Yes, you are at the right place! There are so many helpful people here. People who have been through it and some who are going through it.
I have been on this site for literally about 5 years now. I fnally filed for divorce this last January. It took me that long to realize that I could go no further.
Thank God you got out while you did! Now, my dear you must figure out how you ended up with him, and make sure that you don‘t attract or accept the same fate again.
Please read Kaylar‘s Process of Domestic Violence and Bubblecroppers post on the Toxic Man.
These two posts are tremendous for healing. I am also reading a book titled "The Powerful Self" by Steven Stosny Ph. D. . This book is helpful in learning NOT to be a victim again.
