These "how to" tips sound like something straight out of a women‘s magazine.
The truth is, chemistry has to be present in order for any relationship to happen to begin with. Two people have to be attracted to one another. If they aren‘t, no amount of "tricks" in the world will help.
If you have to try to be something you are not to attract someone, or keep someone around, it‘s probably not the right relationship, and it isn‘t going to work. You won‘t like or respect yourself for long if you have to be fake, and the same is true for your partner.
You‘ll grow to resent them for it if you‘re fake.
One of the hallmarks of great relationships is the ability of two people to accept each other exactly the way they are. If the other party cannot do this, then it‘s the wrong relationship. Better to be alone than to be with someone who does not like you the way you are.
It‘s not to say that good manners, good grooming, and making an effort don‘t help - because they do - and there are a lot of couples that get sloppy about these things and take each other for granted
But trying to be "exciting" usually doesn‘t work. Trying to be "funny" if you are not is obnoxious. You have to be comfortable in your own skin and you have to be true to yourself. Otherwise, it‘s false advertising.
Not needing a relationship works best. If you are happy with who you are, and you enjoy life, you don‘t have to play games, and you don‘t have to manipulate people.
I‘d rather be liked just for being myself.
