Thanks for all your support! I really do feel like the comeback kid :-)
In retrospect, perhaps "the slap" was her way of testing me to see if I was just another cad after her body or a truly sincere guy. In turn, I respected her for standing up for herself, even though she misinterpreted my comments. Ironically, that incident may have created a stronger bond between us.

Don‘t think so, it wasn‘t testing, please don‘t make excuses for it! It was a wrong thing to do, hitting someone and humiliating them in public is never the answer!
Hope everything goes well with you two, but don‘t become someone who puts up with crap just to stay with a woman, Kev. Keep a balance of power and open communication as much as you can :) it will work out better in the long run!
