A guy that takes a woman‘s feelings into consideration, and isn‘t interested in just sex.  Isn‘t interested in playing her or adding a notch to his belt.

A guy who is honest and upfront about what he expects and is confident...just not cocky and arrogant and even if he is desirable to women and is considered a "catch", doesn‘t think he is god‘s gift to women.

a man that is thoughtful and caring.

A man that makes you soup when you are sick.  or notices that you are out of shampoo and buys it for you, (the right kind too) 

A man that considers your feelings and ask your opinion,  yet is still willing to take charge if he needs too. 

A man that appreciates you even when there is always somebody,  younger, prettier,  richer. 

One that respects you.

And of course a man that is in noway selfish in Bed!

All depends on who‘s doing the talking, I guess.

Some people mean - a desperate, immature wuss. They‘re "nice" but in a superficial way, like what we used to call a "brownnoser" in school. Identify themselves as victims in life. That superficial niceness has a quick way of becoming petty vengeful behaviour when they don‘t get what they want.

Other people mean - a mature adult who‘s past behaving like a teenager & doesn‘t indulge in petty behaviour. Believes in respect and not in a superficial way like the other sort.

I guess respect is the big difference. The former group doesn‘t really get it ... they can mimic it in their behaviour, but the principle behind it eludes them. In reality, they don‘t respect themselves, and they don‘t respect others.

I agree with many of the above.

For me the #1 is someone who considers the feelings and wants of their SO in their actions and decisions.

And yes tall and handsome is a plus too.

Geez!  Because you can reach the top shelves for the little ladies who can‘t!  Long legs usually go up and make an ass out of themselves.  Short guys have testy attitudes.

Handsome definately doesn‘t make one a good guy.

Ok then.  A good guy might be someone who is stong in their convictions but open minded enough to see there are more than 2 or 3 views to every situation and constrained enough not to throw a tantrum when not agreed with.

I like integrity, kindness, reliability, accountability, and a respectful attitude.

I respect men who work hard, pay their bills, honor their obligations, and can be counted on to tell the truth.

I like men who are good fathers - not only in providing for their children - but who spend quality time with their kids,  care about doing what‘s best for their families, and setting a good example.  Men who really like kids appeal to me.

Intelligence and a good sense of humor are also huge pluses.

A man who can be my best friend in the whole world.  In short - a good person.

Sex appeal and good looks might be what people are looking for in their 20‘s.  None of that has anything at all to do with what makes a good marriage or a happy relationship.
