We turned the function off temporarily to help keep out the hackers. We hope to get it turned back on in the near future.

Ty Love.
Guess instead of pics for now I can tell yall a little about my baby.
His name is Scooter and he‘s a um cockatoo.Got him from a lady who‘s hubby owned Scooter for 6 years (before them I dont know who owned him cause I asked her twice and she didnt answer me) anyways he passed away about 8 months ago. Said Bill Scooter‘s owner use to spoil him bad. Bill and Scooter took showers together but when I tried putting him in alone he went nuts, so scared. For now I spray him down and have a clear glass pie plate atop of his cage. I have seen him dip his foot yesterday so maybe he‘ll start using it.
The lady had him in a downstairs room alone with no T.V nothing. Has some chest feathers missing and his tail looked like he got caught in a ceiling fan. His cage was such a mess that as soon as we got in town with him, Aaron dropped Scooter and I off and took the huge cage to the car wash, it was just awful!!!
She creid some when we left with Scooter, I gave her my number and email and told her to mail me back with hers and I‘d take pics of Scooter. She has never emailed or called. She did tell me Scooter was his and that after he passed she hadnt the time for him. So I guess she wasnt that close to him. He is like a little child and I couldnt part with him.
At 8:30 it‘s bedtime for him, he loves to run away from me atop of his cage! He knows the word bedtime, I chase him around and he giggles at me. He then will come to me and say I LOVE YOU, I‘M SORRY.I cover his cage and I feel so bad when I hear that little voice from under the cover saying HELLO, I LOVE YOU. I feel like I have a baby in a cage LOL!
We are up at 7:30 am and he gets excited when he sees me. He dances around his cage til I get the door open. He chats to me but I cant understand what he‘s saying. I give him his bananas, seeds, nuts, zupreen pellets, every thing is fresh every morining. He loves scabbled eggs, cheese, pringles, pound cake, ONLY french fries from BURGER KING. He will not eat them if I cook them. I‘m thinking its the oil they fry them in? I have tried other fruits and veggies but he wont eat them.
A cockatoo site I belong to says keep trying to give other things to him.
I sit on the floor to clean out bottom of his cage and he will crawl down to me and watch, he will ask WACHTA DOING LOL. He loves to be held and cuddle. Holds his wing open cause thats his favorite place to be rubbed. He grabs a piece of my hair with his little foot and preens my hair.
When I leave the house I put him back in his cage, while I‘m home he stays out. I leave for work and in he goes. I come home and the 4 legged babies greet me and I greet them and soon as Scooter hears me he starts screaming and saying I LOVE YOU, I think he has named me that LOL. The kids say while I‘m gone he doesnt make a sound until I come home and he goes nuts. I think they get a little jealous of him. I know Ash does LOL she says I love him more and buy him stuff everytime I leave the house I come back with new toy or food for him to try.
Everyone that comes to my house and sees him says he‘s the most freindly bird they have ever seen. I agree, he loves everyone! He lets anyone hold and rub him, he talks to anyone that will show him attention. I love this little guy.
I have told the kids that Scooter will live for many years. They can live for 90 years and that one of them will end up with him one day.
Oh and as for the 4 legged babies, they dont bother him and he dont bother them. I think he likes them in the room cause he talks to them and giggles at them. Peppy lays next to us when Scooter and I are playing.
As soon as we are able to post pics I‘ll post one of him.

Star, that is sooo sweet,
When my daughter was younger we raised Cockatiels. We had a HUGE cage in the fam room that my H and she built together. It was a blast, you must be lovin him.
I adopted a female that also had a bare belly, It was from stress. She had been pluckin out her feathers for years. I left her out of the cage as much as poss. Also If your guy is plucking his feathers you can buy "bitter apple " spray. It helps. If you haven‘t already a vet visit would be good just make sure he doesn‘t have lice or some skin issue that needs treatment.
Our birds loved to play in the shower, turn on the water cool and not too much pressure, they ran around in the shower shakin there feathers and singing!!!! The female I had would sit on the shower rod while I was in the shower. She was a clingy girl. The sink is great for a water playtime too.
The females loved eggs too, mostly when they were with chicks. Be sure to keep his nails trimmed and make sure he has a cuddle bone avail to him always, to scratch his beak on.
I hope we see pics soon!!!!! Enjoy your new baby,

Ty you love for the advice!
I will try the bitter apple, I saw some at upco.
They say it could be from stress of missing Bill and may have gotten into the habit of plunking.
I‘m afraid to try the shower again with him ,scared he may hurt himself. He was so scared and screaming, had one feather bleeding. He had chewed it to the blood feather before we got him and when I put him in the shower he hit it and had it bleeding. So I watched him and had the starch ready just incase.
I have been doing so much reading on cockatoos.I‘m wanting to make sure I do the right things by him.
One of the things I have learned is birds are way smarter then people give them credit for.

I‘m so excited for you, Can‘t wait for pix............... You are exactly right about the feather pluckin becoming a habit. If you ever think he‘s not feelin well do not hesitate to have him looked at. Birds are masters at hidding their illnesses. Often we wait too long to act, then it may be too late. But it sounds like you are researching about it all very well.
Happy Happy for you,
