Ahhh...just another older man who thought he could actually keep up with...entertain...whatever .... with a much younger woman and got played.  When are men going to learn...money cant buy them love??

I am not surprised at all,  I figured this would happen when he said he was divorcing.

I just hope the little tart gets what is coming to her.

Yup.  Sad it is. 

Certainly not all wealthy peeps are as shallow as these two but it once again goes to show....

Dysfunction knows no boundaries.

The guy had a mid life meltdown.  His gf had "Mel Gibson" knocking on her door.  Neither one of them knew what the F they were doing!  It shows too!  LOL  They sure managed to make one helluva spotlight in the media with a story as old as time.  LOL

A mans ego is bad enough...sheezzzz....

Staggering wealth at Mels level also buys entitlement issues even his ego clearly had (is having) trouble handling!  I think its safe to say there are many more "hundred dollar millionaires" affected with the same entitlement issues as well.  LOL...LOL...LOL

So do you feel any compassion for him for being a "regular joe" afterall?

He maintained a 30+yr Hollywood marriage.  I,for one am giving him points for that one.  Does it excuse anything hes done recently.  No.  Just sayin......hes not a total schmuck.

Not today or anything...but I think his ex wife is going to forgive him.

I cant give either of them any points.

He destroyed his marriage and went off with a woman he didnt even stay with, if he had left his wife gave it some time and then started seeing her then fair enough but its like he had a family, broke it up and he hasnt even stayed with the woman he left his wife for. Whats the point of that.

 In the back of my mind I wonder if he wasnt happy in the marriage and used this woman as an excuse to leave his wife and is now blaming this woman for all of his ill luck.

He‘s just a knob. Part of me hopes she gets a bit of cash from him, teach him not to do that again.

Well being a fellow aussie myself (he‘s australina citizen) it‘s a real shame to see the drama that is unfolding for the world to see. Mel has done quite a lot of good things in the past, and he definitely aint some philander - having stayed married to the same woman for 30 years. A man‘s past can tell so much about him and Mel‘s sure doesnt have a bad track record of a masher. He‘s probably going through some ‘mid life crisis‘ and like some men, thought that by hooking up with younger women, they could escape the realisation of the passing of their own youth and the imminence of their old age.  Sadly this younger woman turned out to be a gold digger and is the caused of his downfall.

Ohh..I imagine he‘s had countless affairs.  Regardless, he still maintained a long term marriage.  Were they happy?  Only they can say for sure.  There had to be some kind of love and respect between the two of them to remain together so long. 

He is clearly a knob for ending a marriage like that.  No doubt! 

Even if their 30 yr marriage had dwindled down into a marriage of convenience...of sorts.  Who knows...his ex wife could have been seconds away from divorcing him anyway.  Regardless.............

He‘s still a cad for ending it like that. 

Blaming the OW is silly to me.  Seriously,it could been her or one of many many more.  Its like the OW is faceless because the MM is the one who brings her into the marriage.

It still doesn‘t make her innocent.

Nobody is innocent. 

don‘t be afraid, this situationi with Mel was over the top on both sides.  He freaked out, is gets violent when he‘s drunk, drinks too much.

And his X planned it out.  She knew what she was doing and was standing by recording it.

So its a toxic combination of someone who needs anger management and alcohol abuse counseling, and a gold-digger who planned this from the start.

I‘d trust that if you got into a relationship it wouldn‘t be with someone that drinks and that you weren‘t out to push his buttons and stand by with a tape recorder.

but that is what happened.  Too many people probably don‘t realize it was like that.  Too many people think they just gave him a big cross, stuck a thorn crown on his head, and made him carry it.

Before this movie I don‘t think anyone realizes just how brutal the persecution of Christ was.

I think there are three sides to this story.

His side

her side

and the truth.

He was an old fool for thinking she wanted him and she was a gold digging bitch.

Now he cant deal with what he did to screw up his life and he thinks drinking will fix it and we all know it will not!

I agree.  Mel definitely has issue and there is no excuse for  hitting a woman(unless she is coming at him with a frying pan in self defense)

He needs big time therapy.

But she had this planned obviously.  She knew what she was doing.....recorder ready to go and everything.

What is it with men above 40 thinking that young women aren‘t going to better deal them for something younger, or just want them for their money.

Men (and cougars) need to wake up and realize they have nothing in common with partners 20, even 10 years younger than them.  Because age doesn‘t make a difference physically when the elder is around 40....but once they hit 50 or 60 and their significant other is still around their 30‘s and relatively young looking....do the men and cougars really think the young pups want a someone that is starting to look like a grandpa or granny?

You sound just like the guy I am dating.

He said if I was with somebody in there 20  we wouldn‘t have anything to talk about. 

I think relationships like that are terrible,  I don‘t see them working at all.

My mom always said,  marry somebody that you can talk to for hours.  When your older that maybe all you two have left.

there is 2 months different in age between me and the man I am dating.  We can talk about anything, music, books, school  and know what each other is talking about.

I feel that men or women that date somebody that much younger  are looking for a trophey,  kind of like  HEY look at me,  I still got it.

I would rather have somebody by my side that I love, respect and enjoy spending time with.  Not somebody that I am with because they have money.
