Hi All,
Not sure who this is probably a sock puppet for some regular crazy....but this is whats been sent to me through private messaging...
carolwalden: If you feel it``s going to trigger someones memory, why post it? What does this Catholic vidio show to us? That Catholics are barbaric. Why post it? You need to think before you post.
bubblecropper: I`m Irish, I`m catholic and some of my relations where abused in state run institutions. I posted the video to hightlight what happened here in Ireland. You don`t live here, you have no idea the effect this has had on us, so how dare you come here out of the blue and make accusations.

hehe!! I‘ve been baptised, my mother tells me I screamed the whole way through! See even then I didn‘t want it!
I‘m technically still catholic...although I would LOVE to opt out, I can‘t the government and church here have us totally screwed, because if I opt out, my kid can‘t go to a good school, because 90% of the schools here are STILL run by catholic orders...it sucks...but we are fighting so our grandchildren won‘t have to put up with it!

This woman is quite ignorant and very self-centered, with a misguided sense of righteousness. Her argument is not valid, you did warn about possible triggers.
As for this kind of thing not happening in the United States? Please. No country is exempt from corruption. Perhaps she doesn‘t want her false sense of security to be rocked, and instead would rather live in denial. Some people do this in order to cope, so I won‘t criticize. It‘s her right to believe what she pleases, as long as she keeps it to herself and doesn‘t harass other people about it.
Ignore her, Bubbles, I hope this didn‘t get you down. I salute you for standing up for your beliefs in such a heavily regulated country such as Ireland.

Kahlan, I know thats the sad thing, it has happened in the USA too...we all know that, perhaps not on the scale its happened here, perhaps it hasn‘t had the same impact on society in the USA as it has in Ireland, but there are still victims in the USA and that can‘t be ignored. I tend to believe though that this woman/man is well aware of this and just PM‘d me to bully me out of some sense of bitterness...perhaps its someone I got the better of in the men‘s section or agree to disagree...poor soul!

Bubbles, what are we talking about, I get the Catholic Church but where did you talk about it?
Because I was raised partly in Catholic schools I always gave, I felt I owed them a thank you for the wonderful memories I have. But when the scandal broke there was no way in good conscience I could send them a dime. I wasn‘t going to be a part of paying people off. So now I give to the local church and know where my money is going - youth programs.
