Hi ladies, and happy Thanksgiving!

I haven‘t been around much lately. I haven‘t really felt the need to be here. Apart from some health issues, things are going well. My life has been very full & busy & even more hectic since school started in late August. Here‘s an update:

As some of you know, I‘m a high school art teacher. I have around 190 students this year, and I‘m trying out a lot of new projects. That means a lot of research, purchasing supplies & also making samples to show them. We are having a great time! We just finished making dreamcatchers, next are handmade baskets, then printmaking. FUN stuff!

I also run an after-school dance club, where I teach the kids Latin & Swing dancing. We have a big group this year - a lot of enthusiastic freshmen. They are so cute & they LOVE to dance! We‘ll be getting ready to perform in the spring.

Earlier this month, I celebrated 18 years clean & sober! Thank God for AA, Al-Anon & all those other 12-step programs I‘ve gone to - they, and my HP, have kept me sober & growing! To those of you who are trying to kick drugs, alcohol, or whatever on your own - give AA of NA or whatever appropriate 12-step program a try. If it can help a real alcoholic/drug addict like me, it can help you too - just be open to it!

And.....I got some romance going on! I‘m back together with J, actually since the late spring. For a while, I was seeing him & another ex-bf (who CLAIMED he changed SO MUCH since I broke up with him 4 years ago). I tried to give ex-bf a chance, but I didn‘t see a whole lot of change, and I still have a lot of baggage with him.

I decided things were simpler & more comfortable with J. It‘s a very easy-going, uncomplicated relationship, and I am happy. I‘m in my late 40‘s. I WAS holding out for the so-called Mr. Perfect, but I decided I might as well have some fun & enjoy the company of someone who cares for me, and who I care for as well, rather than be alone. I‘ve come to the conclusion that nothing lasts forever, so I might as well enjoy what life sends me while I can!

I‘m still dancing a lot. Our Salsa dance team has a bunch of performances coming up in December & New Year‘s weekend. This weekend is the US Open Swing Dance Championships, which I am attending. I‘m working as a volunteer at the event in exchange for a free ticket. There will be competitions with the BEST dancers in the world, and a lot of social dancing. fun fun fun! J & I are also going to be starting a routine to Shakira‘s "She Wolf" which we hope to perform at my school‘s talent show.

I‘m still having some health issues. I have high-risk HPV & my last pap was LSIL, so I had the bad cells frozen off my cervix back in August. I will go for the 90-day follow up pap in December. Hopefully it will be normal, with no bad cells.

I just had a stereotactic biopsy done on my left breast, and I have atypical ductal hyperplasia - abnormal ductal cells in a concentrated area. I will have to get the area surgically removed & biopsied "to make sure no cancer is hiding in there" according to the doctor.

Sigh....not looking forward to that at all. Apart from having some teeth pulled, I‘ve only had 1 other real surgery in my life - appendectomy at age 22. I‘ve always been grateful for my good health & robust nature. I hate that my female parts are not cooperating right now! Hopefully what I‘ve had done, and what I will have done will take care of these issues & I‘ll be done with it!

Uber...is this "J" the guy I met at the festival we were at?? If so, I liked him. I hope it all works out for you....I agree, be happy as long as you can...hopefully it will be forever. You deserve it. Go get ‘em at the dance competition, and shake your little "Shakira" ASS of...LOL...

Next time I go to my sister‘s, we should get together again....maybe that salsa place you talked about. I can try to shake my big butt....(yes, I have a big butt and I can not lie)OMG what a sight that would be, but at least we‘d get a good laugh out of it. Hey, wasn‘t that line up there from a famous song...LOL....

Hey Eves - Yes, you met J at that event we all went to. He was the shorter guy with the glasses. I would LOVE to get together with you (& maybe your sis too) when you come out here again. Just let me know when that will be. I think I still have your cel #.

Hi Shally - J is a good guy, but he IS the one who kind of fvcked things up between 2-Good & me. Well, HE keeps telling me he "saved me from 2-Good"!!! Maybe that‘s true....time will tell, eh?

Thanks Cali, for the good wishes on my health. I will keep you all posted as I find out things.
