We picked up the new Honda Accord this evening for my wife and what a nice ride!  Damn if I were‘nt so tall.  We bought the EX, has moonroof, 6 cd changer that plays MP3‘s, so I burned 4 discs tonight with Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Beach Boys, Beatles, Cars, blah, blah, blah.  About 800 songs and loaded it up for her to enjoy.  Comes standard now with electric everything.  Windows, seats, door locks, alarm.  Having a remote start installed within the week and looking into bluetooth for the cell phone.  COOL!  Cell phone rings, music cuts off and the person on the other end is thru the cars speakers.  You can talk to them without touching the phone.  Very sweet!

Gets 21 city, 31 hwy.  However reports said that is more like 25, 35.  Will let you know.  Paid $ 300 over dealer invoice.  Here is something to look into.  Dealers get what they call "Holdback" monies.  Honda gets 3%, Toyota gets 2%.  This is money returned to the dealer after 6 months.  So if we paid $ 300 over dealer invoice, dealer will get another 3% back from Honda in 6 months.  Not negotiable with dealer, but something to consider when buying.  Ask if they will sell you a car for $ 200 to 300 over dealer invoice.

Highly recommend Honda as I owned a 1981 Accord and it was excellent, every way I looked at it.

I know I have opened a can of worms with a foreign car, but we just got over our 1999 Durango, 12 mpg and before that a Plymouth mini van. I also own 3 Ford full size vans for work that also get around 12 mpg.   Ummm, need an excellent car with good gas mileage, sizeable enough for me with great tuneage!  LOL! 

I have had over 25 cars in my driving lifetime plus a Harley.  I just don‘t get attached and it doesn‘t hurt that my dad sold cars, I‘ve sold cars and H is in the business.  I think of all the cars I‘ve had, my favorite was an 1982 Subaru wagon!

I bought a brand spakin new Saturn Aura two months ago.  I really like it!  I‘m getting right about 20 mpg in town.  Can‘t brag about the speakers but it has all the bells and whistles.

Love those Accords.  Bought a 2007 EX last October.  It was made in June.  Moonroof, 6-DVD changer, stabilization, etc.  About 22 mpg in town, 34+ on the road.  Love it!  Thanks to year-end need to clear the lots for the 2008s and the housing crash so people couldn‘t get credit we were able to get it for thousands under dealer invoice even factoring in the manufacturers holdback.

It‘s decidedly a sweet ride.  Enjoy yours for all it‘s worth.  This may well be the last car we ever buy since I retire next year and the Hondas seem to run forever!
