Show Description:
Crime Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone‘s first segment addresses the question: how do you heal after you‘ve been traumatized by crime or abuse? One of the most powerful healing tools is to become an advocate for change. Shelley Serdahely, the victim of years of emotional and physical abuse from her husband, has gone on to thrive and is now helping others. She‘s the Executive Director of Men Stopping Violence, which works to end violence against women in a variety of ways including direct intervention and variety of innovative programs.
Next up, Susan talks about the connection between domestic violence and cyberstalking, a new wrinkle in an abuser’s ability to locate and control their partner after she or he has escaped an abusive relationship. Her guest is Alexis Moore, who knows what it takes to leave someone who cyberstalks you and the challenges someone faces starting over with nothing. She‘s the founder of Survivors In Action which is a tremendous resource for others.
