My ex was abusive and he married me for a greencard. I dont understand why he has gotten away with it. The INS didnt ever contact me or anyone who witnessed what he did. He got a girl pregnant right away after I cancelled my sponsorship and married her then was bragging online how he would be long gone if she wasnt pregnant. So now he is living off this woman and has a licenss, Is able to travel in and out of the country all at my expense. Why doesnt our government do more to protect americans?? Instead they reward this man who was an illegal immigrant for years for being abusive and a con man. He may have the new woman fooled but she is eventually going to see the truth. I didnt even see how awful he was until I made him move out. I got rid of our apt and moved without telling him where I was. I feel like the government has sided with this abusive man who being an illegal immigrant should show his charachter in the first place.

This is a terrible story and I‘m going to reach out to some of my resources to see if I can find anything for you.

In the meantime, have you contacted INS about this? Or any other official agency? If so, what was the response?

I did I wrote many letters to INS I even went to the immigration office ,I had letters from friends and family who saw what he was doing and I dont know how he got away with it. I know for a fact he told everyone i abused him. But he twisted the story just like abusers do. I even sent the posts he wrote about his new wife that he would be gone if she wasnt pregnant. Its so frustrating. I cant let it go. Im over the relationship but I cant get past him not getting justice. He must have conned INS too. Even the person at INS told me that he would be deported that we hadnt been together long enough. But he filed a waiver of the conditional status and they granted it because he is still in this country. On our honeymoon he was at the bar drinking every night I went down to get him and he ripped up our marriage certificat and threw it in my face because I embarased him in front of the people at the bar. In my eyes your honeymoon should be spent together. Now he has a baby so they will never sent him away from his child. I often wonder if that is why he got this girl pregnant and a few years down the road hell walk out on them both.

oh and I never got any response from the letters and then they told me since I cancelled my sponsorship that i was not entitled to have any information on the case. But they never even investigated. I could give them a 100 people who have known me since I was a kid who would verify im not abusive.

I did a whole bunch of checking for you but, given all that you‘ve done, and the seeming "uninterest" in the matter by INS, and also because you no longer have any legal, marital connection to this guy, you‘re just going to have to walk away from the whole issue.

It also sounds to me like there‘s still a lot of anger and other issues that still need to be processed by you to understand why you ended up in such an ugly situation. I urge you to find someone to talk to about this and see what happens.
