Pain is a Stain only Love
can Lift
Be kind for everyone you
meet is fighting a great battle.
~Plato
The feeling of pain is deep
and lingering regardless of how it is derived. I am not talking about physical
pain, but the deeper cutting pain, the pain that can‘t always be seen, the pain
that stains the heart.
Pain comes from broken
dreams and broken promises. It comes from loss of loved ones, loss of faith and
loss of love. The pain that stains the heart is so dark, it actually blocks the
Light of love from entering. It is like a layer of dirt shoveled on your soul
blocking your ability to connect to hope.
Yesterday was one of those
days that I feel like I lived 70 years in one day. I had the opportunity to
help a friend pack up her life. Her pain was deep; a marriage shattered. She
would hold things up as if to ask yes or no. No, I would say. You don‘t need
that. Let it go. A failed marriage isn‘t a failure unless you allow it to
dictate the rest of your life.
Later, all dolled up and out
with the girls, it would have been easy to see three attractive women laughing
about our lives of leisure. Come closer and you would have seen three hearts
connected sharing and spreading love. We were busy laughing our way through our
own real-life versions of the Jerry Springer Show. Love lifts.
In someway, everyone we
encounter carries his or her own stains. The deeper the pain; the deeper the
stain. The great news is that Love purifies even the darkest of hearts. We can
purify our hearts by helping other people through their pain. Pain shared with
love is pain dissolved.
Being Happy Healthy and Fit
means following the words of Plato: Be Kind. Meet everybody and every
circumstance on the battlefield of life with the courage of a hero and the
smile of a conqueror. Pain may stain your heart, but LOVE can lift even the
deepest and darkest spots. With a pure heart, you will see The best is yet to
come!
