Hi Dr. Womansaver.. This is a post that I posted in general but someone told me to send it over to you. Good Morning All! Well, I decided that it‘s time to get healthy again! I‘ve been smoking for 8 years and I‘m only 21.. so that‘s not too good. I‘ve already had 2 surgerys on my throat due to a bunch of sinus and allergy problems. I decided yesterday and I‘m sick of feeling like crap all the time at only 21 years old! I‘m QUITTING!!!!!! I‘ve quit before for about a month and half and what really helped me in Quitnet.com. For all of you that are thinking about quitting, that website REALLY helped me last time. Also.. me and my mom are joining the gym together. We‘re going after work today! =) I also want to start eating better. I‘m an unexperienced vegetarian, so I don‘t substitute my meals well. I eat a lot of junk. (Any suggestions here??) Just had to get that out there! =) Hope everyone who has off is having a great day! Unfortunatly I don‘t =( But.. it‘s easier to be at work and not smoke than be home and not smoke!

Hi EmmaAnn128.
Deciding
to quit smoking is probably the best health decision you can make for
your body! Don‘t be discouraged if it takes you several tries to
achieve your goal, as this is normal for most people. Just stay
determined, and focused; I promise you -the benefits will be well worth
it. Here is a great article with some ideas to help you quit smoking:

Regarding vegetarianism, I always tell people that being vegetarian
doesn‘t necessarily lead to weight loss if you are loading up on junk
food, and other sugary or starchy things. And you should still keep
your diet well balanced with the right amount of protein, fats, veges,
and carbs.
Here is my advice on nutrition, weight loss, and exercise: http://www.womansavers.com/forum-for-women/advice-infidelity/5/14627.html
I‘ll also bump up these threads in the forum. I hope this
helps you in your journey to a healthy lifestyle. Keep us posted, and
let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
