Find Mr. Right
National Enquirer
December 21, 2010
Looking for love on the Internet? Be careful!
More than 30 million Americans now use web-sites to find love, but online dating expert Stephany Alexander warns that Internet dating is a minefield - and she speaks from experience!
"Eventually, I learned the secrets of how to identify Mr. Wrong on my way to finding Mr. Right," she told The ENQUIRER in an exclusive interview. "More importantly, I learned how to avoid the abusers, scammers, cheaters and dangerous men who prey on single women in online dating websites."
Now, as a guide for other women who use eHarmony.com, match.com, plentyoffish.com and other popular dating websites, Stephany has compiled the lessons she learned in her new book, "Sex, Lies and the Internet - a Survival Guide for Online Dating." And she's sharing her most important tips exclusively with ENQUIRER readers.
"Don't even think about meeting a guy in person until you do a background check on him," she says emphatically. "On the Internet, people lie BIG. You owe it to yourself to find out the truth about anyone you are considering dating."
Check out sites like publicrecordcenter.com. Thyis site offers links to sex offender databases, military records, court records, inmate searches, background checks (these cost a small fee) and vital statistics (marriage licesnses, birth records, adoption records, etc.).
Also try nationalsexoffenderregistry.net.
Other sites like USA People Search, Sherlock Records, Zaba Search and Info Record Search provide basic information for free.
"NEXT, BE SURE TO ASK A GUY the right questions," she says. "Ask for his home number instead of a cell phone. If he refuses to give you a home number he could be married or living with someone else."
