1. A newly divorced woman over 40 should return to the dating scene at her own pace by socializing in whichever ways she feels comfortable with. Some great ways to meet men for a woman over 40 are: join a club or gym, get set up by friends, try on-line dating, go to sporting events, attend church, adopt a dog to walk in the park, take a new class. Most importantly, be active and get out there.
2. Don‘t talk about your ex husband or intense commitment on the first date. It‘s important to have fun and not take things too seriously in the beginning. Take time to groom yourself, be polite, punctual and relax. This isn‘t a job interview. If it doesn‘t work out, it‘s not the end of the world.

Learn about his family, pets, favorite foods, birthday, favorite movies, etc… which are great topics to find out whether or not you will be compatible long term. In addition, ask to phone him at home to make sure he isn’t married or already committed.
5. If you see any red flags when dating, get out. A woman over 40 is mature and has life experience under her belt so she should be extremely picky about who she chooses to spend her time with.
