5 Great Nature Date Ideas
In the fast paced world in which we live today, many couples do not take enough time to slow down and spend quality time together. It's important to keep your relationship strong and healthy that you get away from the cell phones, email, work and friends and just spend some time alone together. A great way to achieve this is with a regular nature date. Get out of the house together and spend a little time with nature- and one another.
What's one of the biggest excuses couples give for not doing this more often? Not enough time! While it's true that most of us feel like we never have enough time to get things done, it's important to make time for your relationship. So many couples put a lot of effort into the relationship in the beginning but once you are together, you slack off.
What's the next most common excuse couples give for not spending more time outside together? They just don't know what to do. Well, here are some ideas to help get you started:
1. Go for a hike
2. Visit a local sanctuary
3. Picnic in a park
4. Go to the lake (or other nearby body of water)
5. Watch the stars
There are many places and ways that you can enjoy a hike. For example, you can go on a nature hike at a local park or recreation center. If you and your partner are more athletic types, you may choose a more challenging mountain hike. If you really want an adventure, you might go for an overnight backpack hike.
Another great outdoor activity is to visit a local sanctuary of some type such as a bird sanctuary. You can spend time together to chat and also learn about new animals or creatures and get close with nature for a while. Look in your local yellow pages or search online for different sanctuaries in your area.
Another simple activity that is easy to plan even at the spur of the moment and that is affordable and fun is a picnic in the park. Plan a Saturday evening together, pick your man up after work and surprise him or make it a weekly date. Pack a small lunch for the two of you and visit a local park. Most community parks even have covered patio areas so you can enjoy your picnic at the park no matter what the weather.
Visiting a local body of water is another great way to enjoy your own little piece of nature. There are many activities you can enjoy on the water from swimming, to boating and jet-skiing and more. Enjoy your favorite activity or learn a new water activity together. You will make memories that will last a lifetime and it can help you keep in shape and spend time together.
Number five on our list is look to the stars. If you live where the stars are frequently visible at night, you can do this any day of the week. If not, make a date to drive out of town and into a place where the stars are visible. Sit out on a blanket or even on the hood of your car together and cuddle while you watch the stars.
These are just a few ideas to get you out on a great nature date. You can change these, add to them or make up your own. The point is to get out there and have some fun together.
