Entering Room
Wait until the rooms list has loaded. Move your mouse over rooms and you will see them be highlighted one by one.
Stop when you find a room you want to join in. Click to enter.
Every room has user limit. If a room is full for the time being, you will be
told to return later or try another room.
When you enter a room, a default host (robot) of system may notify all that you have come in.
Quitting Room
When you finish chatting, or when you want to quit one room to enter another room, you can click the top button "exit room" to quit current room.
If you choose closing browser, you will close this chat client for all. If you just click "quit", you will return to the room list to be able to enter another room.
You can also use the drop down list in the top right of the window to change
rooms.

Sending messages
After selecting a room to enter, you can type a message in the input field near the bottom of the screen and hit "enter" on keyboard or
click the "send" button to send the message out. Your message appears on the chat screen following your nickname.
Press ctrl+"enter" or click the "Newline" button to start a new line.
Idle status/typing status
After a duration of time when a user remains silence both in public and in a private window, his/her status will be automatically changed to "idle". The time length is defined by
the administrator.
When an idle user begins talking, the idle status disappears automatically.
When a user begins to type, whether in public or in a private window, anyone in the same chatroom will see a "typing" status after his or her name, when
they click the "send" button, the "typing" status disappears automatically.
Interval between two utterances
Please wait a few seconds before sending another message. This pause prevents flooding on screen.
The value is defined by administrator and the default value is one second.
Ignore
If there is any chatter in the room you wish to block, simply select the username in the user-list and click "Ignore" from the popup menu. From then on, every message the chatter posts to you, whether private or public, will not appear on your screen.
When you changed your mind, you can re-select this user and "Cancel Ignore" to
give this user the second chance. If you try to post a message to someone but
get no response, you may be set to " ignore" by them, that means you'd better watch out your behavior or words.
Action
The "/me" command is used to describe an action. Your nickname will automatically be inserted and the text will appear differently than
the ormal channel messages. This command is available in chat lobby and private messages.
For example: "/me waves goodbye." will display on the screen:"
(username) waves goodbye."
The "/me" command has to initiate a sentence to be effective.
Cached messages
Once a user enters a room, the last 5 messages will appear in the chat window to give the new comer a brief picture of the conversation which was going on.
It will show in a gray or other predefined color. The number of entries of
messages is configured by the admin.
Chat bot Message
WomanSavers may send announcements or broadcasts to specific or all rooms at
certain intervals, for site news or information.

Enable/Disable Sound
Administrators can enable or disable sounds in a room as default setting, every user can change the setting with the top buttons.
In a chatroom, if you want to be notified of any occurrence, like someone says
something, someone enters or leaves the room, etc. you can enable the "sound" button so that even if you left the chat window, you know what's going on in this room.
If you feel all the sounds are annoying, please click the speaker icon to disable sound, to mute the whole room.
Your settings only affect your own chat. Once you've logged out, this setting will restore
to the default.
This "sound" button controls all the sound effects in a chatroom, if you just want to enable/disable one specific sound, you can configure
this in the "Options" panel instead.
History
There are two methods to access the Message History windowl.
You can click the "Open Message History" button to open the Message History
window easily or you can click the "View" button under the
"Save message history on server" in the Option window..
By default you have 100kb space specified for your chat log.
You can set the size here.
Once this file is filled up with chat log, it will stop recording further messages,
so you may want to periodically backup your chat log.
IMPORTANT: Once logged out, your chat log will be cleared. So if the conversation is very important to you, please remember to save it before you leave.
Enable/Disable Scrolling
New messages come in from the bottom of the screen. As new messages come in, old messages will scroll off the top of the screen. And only a certain amount of lines can appear in your chat box, the previous history will be automatically cleared to ensure the chatting speed.
When checking details of some words, you may want to stick the chat window to one position and stop scrolling,
by clicking the "Scroll" button and you can stay where you are.
Click it again and the screen will start scrolling all over again.
Clear screen
Press the "Clear" button to clear all messages on your screen.
Exit Room
Click the "Exit room" button to exit current room.

Change Avatar
There is a toolbar above the text input area with many options. And the first icon is a default avatar image.
You can select an avatar to express your feelings or your style by clicking on the icon and choosing from the
pop-up panel. The avatar you choose will appear in 3 places: before your words both in public and in private, and before your name in
the user list.
Bold Font
The "B" icon represents bold text. You don't have to highlight any words in your message to change it bold, just click this "B" icon and the whole message become bold.
Click it again to restore it back to normal text.
Italic Font
The "I" icon represents italic text. You don't have to choose any words in your message to change it italic, just click this "I" icon and your message become italic.
Click it again to change it back to normal text.
Underline
The "U" icon represents underline text. You don't have to choose any words in your message to change it underline, just click this "U" icon and your message become underline.
Click it again to change it back to normal text.
Font Color
The color block beside the font size icon is for selecting colors. Once a color is selected from the color-picker, the whole message will change to this color.
Sorry you can't have 2 or more colors in one message.
Smileys
The Smiley button in the toolbar allows you to add smiley faces.
The smiley faces you've chosen will appear at the bottom of your conversation, at maximum you can select one line of
Smileys. Tip: Now smileys can be inserted into chat using a shortcut, like ":)"
= smile.
NOTE: If any of the above buttons disappears, it means it has been disabled by the
Administrator.
Change Background
Click "Change Background" icon and you'll see a variety of backgrounds.
FlashEmotions
Animated emotions can be chosen to launch the "Play" button into the chat lobby or private chat.
If your in a lobby, then all users in the current room can click "Play" to enjoy the flash; If in private chat, the specific recipient can click "Play" to enjoy the fun.
Predefined Messages
Frequently used messages can be easily added to/removed from the predefined section to save time, they can be easily copied into chat input area by double-clicking
the message. After editing it or just confirming it, press “send” to publish it.
The regular users can define their own messages in their chat panel, above the chat input area there is a middle toolbar and the last icon is for
predefined messages.

• add: press “+” to activate add message window.
• delete: choose one message then press “-” to remove it.
• manage pages: Multiple canned messages can be managed in multiple pages.

| Private Window |
Chatters are able to start a private window to any other chatter in
the current chat room to talk one on one, unless admin disables this feature.
NOTE: Private Chat is monitored by admin too and recorded in message log.
There is a user list at the right of the chat box.
Click any username you like, the background color of the chosen username will change and a mini menu
will popup with a "Private" option in it.
Choose the "Private" option and a private window is activated between you and the recipient.
If you choose a user name but no popup window shows up you've
probably highlighted yourself.
You can also double click a username to activate a private
window.
If you have your settings to "Open a private window in a new
browser" you can minimize it to your task bar.
You can click the top bar of the private window and drag it
to move it around.
Click the right-top "close" button to close this private chat window. You can
have more then one private window open at a time.
Even if the person you're private chatting with left the current room, maybe he was in room-list page, maybe he entered another room, as long as he didn't log out
of the whole chat, you can still private chat with him. When
they go offline you'll be notified that they have logged out.
Even though you can no longer send a message to him, the private window
will remain and you can still read your conversation. Users can change settings in
the Options window to allow or refuse to accept private
messages.
There are two destinations of the new incoming private messages: in current browser or in a new browser.
If in current browser, the PM (Private Message) box will open quicker and remain
in the chat window but may limit your view.
If in a new browser, the benefits are: it's easier to manage multiple PMs and when new messages come in, you will be notified by the blink.
But be careful, too many PMs in multiple browser may lag your chatting speed.

you'll launch the Options panel, explore it and you'll find a lot of interesting features:
switching from multiple-line or single-line mode,
enable/disable converting smiley symbols to graphic animations,
personal sound settings,
save history log in memory and others.

1). How to video chat in public chat

Publish your own video/voice
In a chat room there is a webcam icon in the top menu.
( see #1 in the picture above)
When you move the mouse over the button, a prompt will show "Publish my
video".
See picture 2 below.

Click the icon; a video window will pop up, with the line
Send Audio/Video.
If you do not see the pop up window, make sure your browser window
is open wide enough.
Scroll down to see if the pop up window is below your view point. Click this line to go ahead and publish your own audio/video.

Video Window Configuration
Move the mouse to the bottom right of the video window. You will see an arrow
indicating that this window is resizable. Drag the window to the size you want.
The blue bar to the right of the video is the volume bar, showing the volume
of the microphone and speaker.
To configure the volume:
Right click on the video window and choose -> setting-> microphone
Check other user's audio/video
The webcam icon is visible after a user's name in the userlist if he/she has
already published their audio/video.

To see that user's video, click the icon. A request will be sent to the
user to allow/decline you to view their video. Your video cannot be seen by
others in the chatroom unless an approval to the request has been issued by you.
After you've published your video, other users will see a webcam icon next to
your name.
2). How to use video chat in private chat
If you would rather publish your video only to a specific user rather than
the whole chat lobby, activate a private chat window by double clicking his/her
username first. The "Publish my video" webcam icon will appear in the menu above
the input area.

Using this method, no users apart from the user you specified will be able to
view your video.
If the receiver wants to show their video to you, they will also need to
click the “Publish my video” button to publish their video.
3). Video feed not working
If you send your video feed and get a window that says 'Video off" try the following. (see Picture 5 below)

In the video pop-up window, Left click for Macintosh/Right click for
Windows, choose Settings.

You will see the pop up window for the Adobe Flash Player Settings.
Make sure you click to Allow womansavers access to your camera and
microphone.

There are a number of tabs for the different settings. Click on the webcam icon on the end.

This will give you your flash webcam settings. Try changing the
video device listed in the drop down box until you find one that works.

You can also adjust your microphone volume by clicking on the microphone icon
and moving the slider.
Notice there is an option for echo reduction here as well.

Some other things to try:
- Test your camera outside of the womansavers chat to make sure your webcam is
functioning properly
-Make sure you dont have another program running that is trying to use the video
camera at the same time.
